The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has received complaints regarding a TikTok ad, which encouraged excessive or irresponsible consumption of alcohol, and featured someone under 25 years old playing an important role which is prohibited by the ASA’s CAP Code. The ASA also received a complaint regarding a paid-for Facebook ad which made claims that a supplement could help to prevent, treat or cure developmental language disorder, autism and ADHD, alongside other complaints which were in relation to paid-for Facebook ads that made unauthorised health claims about weight-loss supplements. The ASA upheld all complaints.
If you are a member of the public, you work for a competitor or you’re associated with a group with an obvious interest you can make complaints about posts on social media to the ASA.
